hi hi
Is it just me or do the outlines look thicker today? Perhaps an unconscious rebellion against boss like directives to work without outlines?
Sigurd can sure take a hit, makes me wonder if we're going to find out that he can only be killed by the legendary mythical noun of adjective from some far off land hidden in a dungeon so deadly that none have ever escaped to tell the tale of how the noun of adjective is there in the first place.
They actually are thicker, tomorrow's page is probably even worse lol! I started using a new brush-pen-marker thing to ink, and while I like the line width variation I get from it, I haven't quite learned to control just how thick the lines get! XD
As for Sigurd-Killing-Artifacts and the Power of Love (that would make a great title) I can't say until later chapters! :3
But yes, Sigurd is a spy old fogey, although for his race he's not actually even all that old! _________________

hi hi
Augh! I missed an update >_<
Hokay, here we go! Page 159: I don't know if the thick lines would work better in all situations but I think, at least in action~y scenes, since they're the same width as some of the color elements even that it might imply more movement in the frame than if the lines were thin and precise. All the billowing lines and folds and hair is hard to follow with the eye, but I'm guessing that is on purpose since real life action is hard to follow anyway.
So the question is this: does Keres have an off button or did she trigger some kind of fail safe when she drew blood? Perhaps it is something different all-together, like as page 160 might imply, that she has connected to memories in either her own past or from Sigurd's.
Speaking of Page 160: Holy smokes, this is a big one! I don't even know where to begin with this big scary dragon looking thing. I'm pretty sure that one of those guys in robes is Siggy-poo. It almost looks like that is the academy in the background that is being burninated, so perhaps it is a different spirit all-together? If that is the case, maybe she inherited part of Larina's curse?
I dunno though, I'm going to be holding my breath until next week when we'll hopefully get some more context for what is happening in crazy flashback land.
P.S. What happens to Keres' floating doodlebobbers when they run into something like the floor? do they stop spinning or do they pile up like a multi-vehicle accident?
Now this is interesting. Did Sigurd cause Keres vision, or is she experiencing a flashback, or is she simply insane and halucinating? I'm definitely looking forward to our heroes' first encounter with Keres.
Icekatze: I guess the Keres's vision could be the fall of the academy but I'm going to go with a long bet and guess that it's the Strangers/Ancients homeworld. We know that both factions left for some reason and we know that Keres has never been on this world before. _________________ I don't know everything, merely everything of importance- Fidelias
Ronnoc: I can't say which option is right, they're all equally possible... maybe all 3 at once? or maybe none.... *mysterious eyebrow wiggle*
Icekatze: I guess there isn't much context to page 160 now that 161 is up....but I guess I was confusing on purpose so... yeah!
As for the lines I really enjoy the life my new marker-pen-thing gives the lines, but I still haven't learned quite how to use the huge brush yet... XD
And I imagine Keres' floaty things a bit like the Princess' crown in my demo reel animation, if she falls or runs face-first into a wall, they'll crash into whatever, but they'll spring back into place right after _________________

Nooo! Keres, don't do it, he's just going to use you up and throw you out like a piece of tissue paper! Just look at his smug face, its shooting out smug like a coal fired, lumber incinerating, gas mask requiring smug machine! He's like some kind of giant, grubby claw handed Smarmasaurus Rex.
My new guess is that Keres *is* that horrible dragon eyed monster thing, just in a convenient golem shaped form.
I'm pretty sure Keres is planning on double crossing Sigurd to Icekatze. The only question is whose better at it?
And on the heroes end of things: They're back, and they got new outfits! I must say I'm looking forward to seeing the gang back on the road again. _________________ I don't know everything, merely everything of importance- Fidelias
I think its a question of who double crosses the other first, cause its pretty obvious both are planning it......... i think siggy has to be more careful though, Keres is a walking A-bomb, she only has to figure out a way to break his control on her, a teeny little mistake, and siggy is toast, whereas siggy cant afford to destroy keres , giving her the advantage.
And Kit and Co. are finally setting out.........it's 'Operation Rescue Larry' !!!

hi hi
Time to set your plan in motion Sigurd? More like, time for the heroes to set your plan into, um.. not motion! (burned!)
I've got to wonder, did anyone else spontaneously think of some sort of theme music when they saw the big splash panel?
I dig the new costumes, though I still think Kit is going to need something to keep warm in the frigid north. I guess she does know magic, so maybe that will be enough. But has she switched to a single sword fighting technique? I dig Kit's new scar, would have fit right into the world of Blood Winds of Darkness Last but not least, The boar's tails are a great touch. It makes me wonder how long they've been recuperating though. It seems to me like Kit's hair has been gradually getting longer over the course of the comic, and intentional or not, I think it is an awesome effect. Sid, of course is the only one dressed properly for the climate.
P.S. The rocket bear comic was hilarious, especially the expression. Regardless of my broader thoughts on the merits and flaws of bribery in the democratic process, I always have to see what your vote incentives are.
P.P.S. Random other thought: remember the vote incentive you posted a long while back with the victorian looking deer lady with an anti-vampire defensive tool in hand? Was that from anything in particular?
I don't know about music for that specific page, but I have a fw-themed playlist that I like to tinker with
They will definitely need warmer clothes for the frozen north....but I'll save the rest of this sentence for after I've uploaded this week's page XD Kit still has two swords, they just don't match anymore and her right sword is mostly hidden behind her. As for their hair, it's only semi-intentional, since even at the start their hair length was sorta random... I figured I might as well run with it since it shows they've been waiting for Kit to recover. I don't know exactly how long they've been waiting for that matter... mostly because I don't know any doctors who could tell me how long it would take to recover from an injury like Kit's. I'm going to have to decide soon, because it's something that a lot of people want to know, and Larina has been counting time
I'm glad you liked the rocketbear comic! I'm really loving ICC so far (except saurfang, I hate him still) and having a rocket strapped to my bear's butt is undignified and awesome XD And hey, bribery, it's what all the cool kids are doing!
The character from the deer-lady drawing was for an art exchange group I used to be a part of, the drawing itself was the creator's character (a victorian deer-lady) transplanted into a movie genre (horror, so I went with a good old fashioned vampire-staker). _________________
I will admit I'm curious to see if Kit and company actually get to save Larina or if they get sidetracked by the Minionz attack on the academy. _________________ I don't know everything, merely everything of importance- Fidelias
I knew it, Larry was the brains of the outfit, with her gone they will be reduced to randomly wandering the countryside..........all that heroism (destructive potential)without direction....it's a scary thought.... now how to point them at the Rune Academy...........?
About kits outfit....her cloths have been getting darker in color as the comic goes on ,from pale blue to light green to bright green.........and remember the secret rule of FW magic....."to use the song to its full potential one must expose ones torso"......you must sacrifice comfort for such an advantage in battle.
hey, i didn't notice her scar till i looked for it, it's nicely done.
Yep, Larry is not only the brains of the outfit, but the poor heroes have no idea where Sigurd's base is! XD But Kit did get a hint as to where she should go next.... it's been a while though
