My friend has a pomeranian with an honest-to-god INSANE GRIN.

But he's shoo adowabwe! Also, Pomeranians are just about the only dogs I'm not phobic of. I approve of your taste.

She looked alot like this, a bit younger though and smaller.

We dont know why she died...The breeders wont take responsibility and refund or replace her

Ahh.. they're cute - WHAT?! She passed away and they refuse to take responsibility?! If they're legitimate, you should have at least had a contract which stated that if something happened to it that you would be entitled to a refund or another dog. Check to see if they're affiliated with anyone and report them! That's inexcusable! For the amount that a dog from a breeder costs, they better do something.

Check your state's laws on puppies purchased from breeders: http://www.canismajor.com/dog/laws1.html#Nat Some of them may have laws that will protect you in such a situation.

I know when I purchased my corgi, even without my asking, he had been to the vet three times, had all his shots and the breeder had it in writing that he had a six month guarantee. A good breeder will be up front about stuff. A bad breeder should be reported.

That makes me so angry, knowing how much you invest in a puppy and how quickly you become attached to them.

If you have not disposed of the dog, take it to your vet and have an autopsy done to see why she died.

I called the breeder back today. My boyfriend had tried to talk to him. Apparantly a few nasty words flew back and forth so now he refuses to speak to my bf.

When I spoke to the guy personally though and explained how devistated I was, and that all I wanted was a healthy happy puppy, he agreed to let me take the one he was going to keep for himself. Tuesday I go to check her out to make sure she's healthy. Wish me luck Sad If I have to experience another puppy dying I think i'll have a heart attack

Just take it to the vet before you take it home.. YOUR vet. I highly recommend carrying a pet insurance plan, at least for the first year. I do mine through Banfield, some local vets have their own plans, but they are very convenient for taking them in twice a year for shots and tests.

Banfield is actually the vet that comes to my work on the weekends. I've already made plans to go directly to work then calling the breeder back with either yes she's healthy or no give me my money back.

I dont know what to name her...I can't bring myself to name her Sophie

Phoenix Wink

And good. They have good rates for the pet plan, around $20 a month. I have a cat and a dog signed up through them and they are very good about having them in for preventative maintenance. Wink

Phoenix is a good name, and you can shorten it to something silly like "Feenie" Wink

I hope everything works out for you! Smile

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie. Sad *has a big soft spot for dogs and isn't ashamed to say so*

Good luck with your new puppy! I used to know some people who had a Pomeranian named Sunny. They used to let him run around with their chickens, cuz he didn't try to chase them or anything.

I really like the name Phoenix (The city I grew up in was Phoenix, AZ Razz) But my bf who bought me the puppy wants to call her Scarlet. We'll have to duke it out and see who wins. If it's a tie, we'll call her Kit in honor of Feywinds <3
